Speaker: Ms. Marolyn Morrison, former Mayor of Caledon
According to media reports, in 2013, then Caledon Mayor Marolyn Morrison was the victim of a plot involving a CRA official to frame her for tax evasion. Ms. Morrison will address lessons learned, when facing political pressures, and look at what needs to be changed to
avoid similar situations, in the future; followed by Q & A.

Marolyn Morrison served as Mayor of Caledon from 2003 – 2014. Before becoming Mayor, she was a Peel Region Councillor, representing Caledon, from 1994 – 2003, and a Trustee of the Peel Region District School Board, from 1988 – 1994, serving as Vice Chair, for the last two years. Ms. Morrison served as Chairperson of ROAD WATCH Caledon and ROAD WATCH Canada, Peel Region Budget, Peel Region Public Works, Credit Valley Conservation Foundation, Greater Toronto Countryside Mayors Alliance, Association of Municipalities (AMO) of Ontario Economic Development Task Force and Top Aggregate Producing Municipalities of Ontario. In addition, she has served as Vice Chairperson of Credit Valley Conservation Authority and been on the Board of Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation, the AMO and The Ontario Aggregate Resources Corporation. Ms. Morrison has lived in Caledon over 34 years and owned and operated a small business with her husband. She is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medals, the OPP Commissioner’s Citation and Crime Control Commission Award of Excellence and the Award of Excellence from the Credit Valley Conservation Authority.
