and lets all hope that 2011 brings an upturn in all our businesses.
Gerrard Chauffeur Drive has been market leader in the Corporate Chauffeur sector for many years; our commitment to high quality service provision has been well known within our existing client base since I started the company in 1989. The past few years have been difficult for us all; with the corporate client looking to seek cheaper forms of Ground Transport and prices being driven lower and lower; this has had an enormous impact on our industry as a whole; many car companies have not survived the recession; mergers have taken place and consolidation has happened on a large scale.
What is left is an Industry leaner and certainly meaner to face the new challenges in the coming years.
Gerrard survived the recession for two main reasons; firstly our existing client base have remained loyal and totally committed to us throughout and I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to every single one of them and secondly we took the decision not to enter into the spiralling reduction in charges; we held our tariff and continued to supply excellent services to our clients throughout.
We saw so many of our competitors try to buy market share in the toughest times of the downturn and sadly they failed; if you are open and transparent with your clients they will understand that there is a line that is dangerous to cross when in negotiations.
 We also took the decision to continue investing in our fleet and Operations; we took charge of the new S Class and E Class Mercedes vehicles and we upgraded our on line vehicle tracking system; both decisions have proved to be correct and now we are in a strong position to grow our business throughout 2011.
