Our Humble Beginnings
|
In April 2006, co-owner Andy Steingas teamed up with a group of developers from Ternopil, Ukraine, to start Frontier Web Development. This group, headed by Vadym Skorupskyy and Roman Hahalyuk, had collaborated with Andy on development projects since 2002, and shared his passion for delivering outstanding results and superior customer service to clients. Their goal was to become a full-scale Web development company that would be a “one-stop shop” for clients. Offering everything under one roof was central to the business plan. Official operations began in a basement office with a set of computers and a $49.99 desk-on-wheels. This didn’t last long, however; business blossomed quickly as word spread that a highly competent, thoughtful company was outperforming the industry. |
Today
|
Today we employ 19 professionals in two offices, one in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and one in Ternopil, Ukraine, and have completed hundreds of Web projects for clients. We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built as a company who truly understands our clients’ business goals and delivers customized solutions that sustain them. In addition to offering comprehensive Web services, we also provide clients marketing, social media, and content writing services. “If you’ve seen it, we can do it.” – Andy Steingas, co-owner Our team is comprised of good, fair people who want the very best for our clients. It’s as simple as that. |

Project Phases Our process is divided into 3 straightforward phases. These are the basic roles each of us play every step of the way: |
|
Below are the full details and explanation of how we begin
any new website project.
For a quick overview, check out Our Process in a
Nutshell.
Planning an Optimal Structure During this stage, we start by listening to you. We learn the basics about how your business works and the goals you have for not only your website, but your company as a whole. We want to know how your site fits into a) your marketing strategy and b) other systems you work with, i.e. databases, auxiliary software, etc. This helps us determine if there are ways you could be saving time and money with Web-based solutions, tools we can integrate into your website.
Once we thoroughly understand your unique needs, we take the time to create a project plan that’s tailored specifically to your business goals. We investigate comparable sites and spend time thinking critically about how your site should work and how each element will influence your site visitors.
Creating a Complementary Design We believe design is about more than just looking good. It’s about communicating specific messages to your audience in the most intuitive, effortless way possible. We work closely with you to achieve a look-and-feel that captures the personality of your business and also provides the best experience possible for your site visitors. We produce design mockups so you can see exactly what you are getting, tweaking them per your feedback.
Starting the Build After you approve the design of your site, we produce a site plan, or “blueprint,” that our development team can use to build your site. |
WHAT YOU GET: · Custom-designed mockups of your website’s most important pages · An administrative site plan that illustrates how you’ll manage and edit your site · A site plan, or “blueprint” that captures all the cool things your new site will do · An estimate for development cost |
Below is a full explanation how we build and prepare a
website for launch.
For a quick overview, check out Our Process in a
Nutshell.
Development & Testing This is where your website comes to life! Our development team takes the “blueprint” we created together and builds your new website. After our quality assurance team tests the site to make sure it is working properly, we give you access to the “Beta” site (preview site) which is a fully functional version of your website that allows you to view it before it goes live.
Reviewing Your Beta Site At this stage, the project is in your court. You review the site and let us know if anything needs to be changed. You also update any new site content at this time – don’t worry, we show you how to do this using your customized content management system!
Going Live Once your website is just the way you want it, we “flip the switch” and make it live. Usually we can do this the day after you give us approval, however, depending on your website’s complexity – and your business goals – we may recommend a more strategic plan to ensure you are leveraging the impact of your new product. Allowing extra time is even more important if you have marketing efforts planned to support your site.
Setting you up with Analytics We also set you up with Google Analytics so, as soon as a week after your website’s launch, you can begin to measure its performance: who’s visiting, how long they’re staying, what pages they like, etc. If you leverage all the capabilities of your new site, your analytics will become more and more useful.
Ongoing Relationship Because websites are such an organic platform, there will always be opportunity for improvement. That’s where we come in – think of us as your built-in development team!
Even after your site is built, we will come to you with suggestions for enhancements and continued growth – we are active participants in your website’s success! |
WHAT YOU GET: · A fully functional “Beta” version of your site that you use to preview the site before launch · Training on how to use your new administrative site to manage and edit content · Strategic website launch · Google Analytics setup and instructions on how to measure your site’s performance |
FROM PIXELS TO PRINT In addition to full-scale Web development, we also offer comprehensive design services. Whether you need a logo refresh, a complete branding package, or just some updated marketing materials, we can help!
Identity Services Take a look at your existing branding pieces – starting with your logo. Are they fresh, visual appealing, and tailored for your intended audience? If not, it’s time to think about a refresh or redesign. Your logo and other branding pieces should be working as hard as you are to reel in potential clients. We can help craft a compelling visual identity that will set you apart from your competitors and drive business to your company.
Marketing Materials Marketing strategy today is all about integrating traditional (what you have been doing) and non-traditional (what you should be doing) marketing techniques. We’d love to take a look at your current marketing materials and discuss how they can be integrated with your website, e-marketing, and social media to get the most out of your brand, both online and offline. |
IDENTITY PRODUCTS: · Logo · Business cards · Letterhead · Envelopes · Signage
MARKETING PRODUCTS: · Newsletters · E-newsletters · HTML email templates · Web banners · Yellow Page Ads · Web Ads · Brochures · Flyers · Promotional pieces · PowerPoint templates · Social media skins |
We can create standalone software applications and do custom system integration to make sure the IT pieces of your business are “talking” to each other. We are all about Web-based solutions that maximize efficiency!
Page Title: CONTENT CREATION & SEO
So, your website is built and ready to launch.
Oops! Wait a second…you still need to add the content! Many of our clients stall out at this stage. They know what they want – need – to say, but don’t know exactly how to say it. They want their words to have as much impact as their website’s new design. If you find yourself in this situation, don’t fret! We can help you write your content.
How it works
We contact you for an initial meeting, either in person or over the phone, and review the pages of your website. While you do the talking, we take notes and gain an understanding of your company’s personality and style. Within about a week we’ll have written copy for all your website pages and posted it on your Beta site for you to review. You provide us any final tweaks, we release a final draft, and then you’re ready to go!
Why good content matters
The Internet, and search engines in particular, like “good” Web content. Why? In short, because it shows you aren’t a hack. Search engines like Google and Yahoo will privilege your website – rank it higher in search results – if they see you as a legitimate and trustworthy source of information. Therefore, your website’s content should be authoritative, comprehensive, and compelling. The more it is all three of these things, the more powerful your website will be in achieving your business goals. Since we understand the average person is not trained to write such effective content, we offer content writing as a service.

How do I choose a Web developer?
Ah, the $64,000 question…. While we’d love to say, “Don’t worry, just use
us,” we realize this is a very important question and there are many things to
consider. We recommend reading Choosing a Web
Developer for co-owner Andy Steingas’ (very educated) thoughts on
the subject.
What do I do first?
Contact us! We’d love to hear what’s on your mind. Then we’ll determine if our services are a fit.
Where should I host my website?
There are many options for hosting and we can work within almost all hosting environments. However, in addition to our core Web development and marketing services, we also provide affordable and reliable hosting for clients if you want to have one place to call with any web-based concerns. Read more about Our Hosting Packages.
What is ‘hosting’ anyway?
Web hosting is the service that allows you to make your website accessible via the World Wide Web – basically the “rent” you pay to occupy your patch of Internet real estate, i.e. www.yourcompany.com. It is where the actual files we program on your behalf reside and can be accessed (via your domain name URL).
I want to be able to make website updates myself. Is that possible if I work with you guys?
We wouldn’t have it any other way! Since we build custom websites, they all come standard with a customized content management system that provides you all the tools to make updates as often as you want. And best of all, since it’s custom, it will be intuitive and easy for you to learn to use.
I want a website, but I don’t like my logo. What do I do?
Ask us about our design services! We’d be happy to carry through the unique design we create for your website to other materials such as your logo, business cards, and other marketing materials. At the very least, having that new logo front and center (or “up and left”) on your site will make a huge difference.
What is STS?
STS stands for “Support Ticket System.” It is the tracking software we use to manage your project. It gives you 24-7 access to your project’s status, keeping you up-to-date and in the loop.
How can it help me?
STS makes communication clear and easy: it allows you and us to see exactly what’s going on with your project at any given time. Whenever you update something in the STS, we are alerted via email. The same goes for when we make an update – you get an email that details what happened. STS also streamlines the billing process: it tracks all completed work and sends you invoices via email.
How do I use it?
Once you begin working with us, you’ll receive a username and password that gives you access to your account and projects. We recommend checking the box for “Log me in automatically” if you want STS to remember you on subsequent visits.
